VIRGILIO F. REYES JR., MAEd, is a full-time Assistant Professor of Philippine Normal University North Luzon. He is currently the Extension Coordinator of Filipino Program of the university. He also served various posts as Coordinator of the National Service Training Program (June 2011-May 2014), Head of the Publication and Materials Development Office (June 2014-May 2015), and Head of the Facilities Management and Auxiliary Services (June 2015-April 2017).
Prof. Reyes holds degrees in Bachelor of Secondary Education Major in Filipino from Philippine Normal University Isabela Campus and Master of Arts in Education with specialization in Filipino from Our Lady of Pillar College, Cauayan City, Isabela. He is currently pursuing his PhD in Philippine Studies with specialization in Sociocultural Studies at the University of the Philippines Diliman through a Research Capability Building Program, a scholarship program for PNU faculty members.
He is a National Trainer of the New GenEd Curriculum in Malayuning Komunikasyon spearheaded by the Commission on Higher Education, and a Regional Trainer for the K to 12 Basic Education Program in Filipino Curriculum. He is a member-author of Modules for Online Refresher Courses in Filipino under the Project “Sa Pinas Ikaw ang Ma’am/Sir” by the Department of Labor and Employment and Philippine Normal University Manila. He has presented research papers in both national and international conferences and co-authored various Filipino textbooks in higher education. He conducts LET review in Filipino and serves as Resource Speaker in topics related to Filipino programs, projects and activities.
