ROLDAN S. CARDONA, Ph.D., teaches in the undergraduate and graduate school programs of Philippine Normal University North Luzon (PNUNL) and is presently the program coordinator for Bachelor of Mathematics Education (BME). Prior to this, he was a special science teacher in a campus of Philippine Science High School (2009-2011). He earned his Doctor of Philosophy in Science Education Major in Mathematics at Saint Mary’s University, Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya and Masters of Arts in Education with Specialization in Mathematics Education in PNUNL. He was a Magna Cum Laude graduate and Rank 2 in the regional level for Licensure Examination for Teachers in 2006.
Dr. Cardona’s research area of interest includes research-teaching nexus, content and pedagogical knowledge in mathematics, indigenous mathematics, instrumentation, and variance-based structural equation modelling. He is sought after as a resource speaker in research and data analysis in higher and basic education institutions in the region. He is regularly invited as an adjudicator in the Regional Basic Education Research Conference of DepEd and division-wide research fora of the Divisions of Quirino and Santiago City. He is able in analysing data using Microsoft Excel, IBM-SPSS, SPSS-AMOS, WarpPLS, SmartPLS, PARAMAP and MCTEST of R package, and Winsteps. He has co-authored books on Fundamentals of Mathematics, Contemporary Mathematics and College Algebra, and is currently working with other college professors from Regions 2 and 3 for a book in Mathematics in the Modern World
