ADELAILA J. LEAÑO, Ph.D., is a faculty of Philippine Normal University North Luzon under the Faculty of Teacher Education. She also served as the Officer-in-Charge of the Office of the Director of Student Services (September 10, 2018 – December 2019). She teaches Professional Education courses particularly Foundation of Special and Inclusive Education, Technology for Teaching and Learning 1, Psychology of Learners, and Teaching Profession.
Dr. Leaño finished her Ph.D. in Special Education at the Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris, Malaysia and Ph.D. in Educational Management from the University of La Salette, Santiago City, Isabela. She acquired her Masters in Special Education at Manuel L. Quezon University, Manila, Master of Arts in Education major in English at the University of La Salette, Santiago City, Isabela, and Master of Arts in Educational Management from St. Paul University Philippines in Tuguegarao City.
She is an advocate of Special Education of children and Indigenous Peoples (IP) learners with disabilities. Her professional consideration is on the provision of differentiated strategies, intervention and appropriate service delivery to learners with special needs. Her works include researches on inclusive and special needs education that include parental involvement. Through her research works, she also promotes special education of gifted and talented preschool learners in the Headstart Program of Isabela province. She continuously gives her support for the sustainable education of indigenous learners in the Early Childhood Education levels.
