Getting back on track, PNU-NL Kalibnusan Chorale is set once again to conquer the stage of 2019 National Music Competition of Young Artists (NAMCYA), the most prestigious choir competition in the country next year.

With the absence of the Choir Master, John Jerry Heriberto Argonza Francisco due to personal reasons, the group suffered a huge decline last year.

Fortunately, he returned to the University after more than year and led the group once again to its rebirth with renewed enthusiasm and restored passion to teach “non-singers”.

Within a short period of time, the nine-month old batch of KC composed of 38 members, has reached small yet significant steps towards restoring its glory set by the older batches.

In fact, in 2011, the group was awarded Best Chorale Group of the Province, at the Isabela Council for Culture and the Arts, FLDy Coliseum, Cauayan City.

As early as November 2018, the group prepared to represent the Municipality of Alicia in the Bambanti Choral Competition. After a showcase of entertaining renditions of Dahil Sa’yo, a popular song, and Tagumpay ng Bukas, contest piece, the group emerged 3rd place in the two-fold competition held at the Provincial Amphitheater and Isabela Sports Complex, City of Ilagan, Isabela, January 27.

Recently, the group rendered a repertoire of songs to the participants of the 2nd International Research Conference, a program spearheaded by PNU-NL, held at Subic Zambales, March 1.

In the year 2002, the group secured first place at the Regional NAMCYA College category giving them ticket to the National Finals at Cultural Center of the Philippines. Representing the whole region in the National Finals, the group snared fifth seat.

The music is still playing for the group as they maintain harmony towards achieving greater heights.
